SCOPE
• Re-admission:
l As per analysis goes the count of people getting readmitted within 30 days of discharge adds on
to a lot of cost. This can be controlled in order to reduce the overall expenditure.
l 1 in 5 Medicare FFS patients readmit within 30 day of discharge.
Cost: $1.9 billion annually.
• Co-ordination of care:
l Ex: Epilepsy
l The patients suffering from epilepsy needs to take treatment on a regular basis. This can be
monitored and informed to the patients if missed it will result in worsening of the condition.
Also this kind of analysis can help to diagnose the other problems which can occur due to
presence of the symptoms of one disease. Like constant cough can increase the probability of
Tuberculosis.
• Pharmacy:
l Analysis depends mostly about the molecular structure of the proteins. Depending on this the
pharmaceutical companies formulate the drugs. Also patients data is analyzed to predict the
drug requirement depending on the location.
