• Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, Jio is an Indian
telecommunications company and wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries, headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It operates a national LTE network with coverage across all 22 telecom circles. • It does not offer 2G or 3G service, it offers VoLTE Service. • It is the largest mobile network operator in India and the third largest mobile network operator in the world Jio Headquarters Jio Brand Ambassador 4G Broadband Jio Fi • LYF-powered JioFi is a portable broadband device brought to you by Reliance Digital. JioFi device allows multiple users and mobile devices to access Jio's 4G high-speed internet connectivity and create a personal Wi- Fi hotspot. • The LYF-powered JioFi device can connect a minimum of 10 devices + 1 USB connection, with some models having the ability to support many more connections. Jio Fiber • Jio Fiber is a fibre-to-the-home internet broadband service provided by telecom operator Reliance Jio Infocomm, part of the Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance group. The service was first announced as Jio GigaFiber in 2018 • The Jio Fiber service is currently under trials at select locations in several cities and states. • Jio Fiber provide us speed up to 100 Mbps as it depends on Different tariff plans. Jio Phone • On 21 July 2017, Jio introduced its first affordable 4G feature phone, powered by KaiOS, named as Jiophone. The price announced for it is Rs. 0 with a security deposit of Rs. 1500 which can be withdrawn back by the user by returning the Jiophone at Jio stores only after three years. This phone was released for beta users on 15 August 2017 and pre- booking for regular users started on 24 August 2017. • In July 2018, the company unveiled the JioPhone 2, an updated model in a keyboard bar form factor with a QWERTY keyboard and horizontal display. Jio also announced that Facebook, WhatsApp, and YouTube apps would become available for the two phones Lyf Smart Phones • In June 2015, Jio entered into an agreement with domestic handset maker Intex to supply 4G handsets capable of voice over LTE (VoLTE). However, in October 2015, Jio announced that it would be launching its own mobile handset brand named LYF. On 25 January 2016, the company launched its LYF smartphone series starting with Water 1, through its chain of electronic retail outlets, Reliance Retail. Three more handset models have been released so far, namely Water 7, Earth 1, F1 Plus, F1S and Flame 1. Jio Apps • Jio launched a bundle of multimedia apps on Google Play as part of its upcoming 4G services. Many apps were launched late too. While the apps are available to download for everyone, a user will require a Jio SIM card to use them. Additionally, most of the apps are in the beta phase. Notable apps include: • 1. JioChat - Instant messaging app. • 2. JioXpressNews - e-news app. • 3. JioNewsPaper - Newspaper app. • 4. JioNet - App connecting to Jio wifi. • 5. JioHealth Hub - Free accssto tests, doctors and reports. • 6. JioTV (Formerly Known as JioPlay) - Jio users can watch 642 Tv channels free with JioTV. • 7. JioCinema - Online HD video library. • 8. JioCloud - Cloud-based backup tool. • 9. JioMags - E-reader for magazines. • 10. JioMoney - Online payments/wallet app. • 11. JioSaavn (earlier, JioMusic) - For online and offline music streaming in English and Indian languages. • 12. JioSecurity - Security app. • 13. Jio4GVoice (earlier, JioJoin) - VoLTE phone simulator • 14. MyJio - Manage Jio account and digital services associated with it. Jio Apps Jio Business Model Market Share of Jio • Within three years of starting its commercial operations, Reliance Jio has become the country's largest telecom operator with a subscriber base of 331.3 million • The TRAI report highlighted that while Reliance Jio was able to capture 30.26% of the market share. • If the same patterns continue for few upcoming months, there is a strong chance that Reliance Jio would finally emerge as the leader in market share of the telecom industry in India.
