An ePortfolio is an electronic portfolio that can be used for learning and assessment in a student's education. ePortfolios allow students to own and control their own learning tools, making their learning longitudinal rather than episodic. ePortfolios can house student work over time and be used for presentations. The work is saved and can be viewed in the future. ePortfolios for learning involve students organizing information they have learned, while ePortfolios for assessment allow instructors to measure student progress over time through assignments completed. ePortfolios are a resource for students to enhance learning and be assessed, and allow reviewing material in and out of class.
