Abstract

• Electricity billing system is desktop based application developed


in Java programming language.
• The Project aims at serving the department of electricity by
computerizing the billing system.
• It mainly focusses on the calculation of units consumed during
the specified time and money to be paid to electricity officer.
• This computerized system will make the overall billing system
easy, accessible, comfortable and effective for consumers.
Introduction
• Electricity billing system is made to keep records of the units
consumed according to the meter numbers.
• The admin can manage all accounts and registered users.
• Customers can manage only their accounts.
• This system also has the option for customers to generate and
pay their electricity bills by online mode.
• Payment can be made by UPI (Unified Payments Interface).
Advantages
• Electricity billing system can provide paperless mode of transaction which is
environmental friendly.
• It requires less man power and low maintenance.
• The proposed system will be very user friendly and it will require less effort
to get acquainted with the system.

Disadvantages
• Damage to database directly affects our system.
• As the result of outsource billing there is a fee involved when
making use of this system of billing

Conclusion

• The software reduces the amount of manual data entry and gives
greater efficiency.
• The User Interface of it is very friendly and can be easily used by
anyone.
• It also decreases the amount of time taken to write details and other
modules.
