Tech Tip 108 - G.M. Passlock Interface

This document provides instructions for interfacing with a GM Passlock system, specifically: 1) Accessing the ignition switch harness and locating a small 3-wire harness or 2-wire harness running from the ignition switch. 2) Cutting the yellow wire in half and stripping back the orange/black or black wire. 3) Measuring the resistance between the orange/black or black wire and the key side of the yellow wire after cranking the ignition to obtain the resistance needed. 4) Warning that using the incorrect resistance could cause the vehicle to default to a long term tamper mode where it will not start.
