Purpose of a Customer Record

 It holds basic and descriptive information of a customer.

 Only one record should exist for each customer.

 It can be created as soon as essential details are available.


 Additional details can be added at any time.

 Should be opened first as basis for any transaction with the


customer.
 The customer record is linked to all of his transactions.

 A customer record -once created- remains forever.

 The Customer Application is a T24 core application which holds


customer information.

 Customer wise position regarding services rendered; income


earned and expenses incurred can be obtained.

 Customer records are created and maintained for:


 Clients, e.g. Private and Corporate
 Agents, e.g. Other Banks, Brokers
 Counterparties, e.g. Other Banks, Retail and Corporate

 A bank can open a prospective customer record.


 Minimum data required to be filled up:
• Full Name, Short name, Mnemonic, Sector, Language.

 Prospect Customer may be allowed business activity with the bank.


 Choice is available in the COMPANY table:
• If allowed, when business activity is initiated, the prospect customer

will be treated as an active customer.


• Otherwise, the customer type should be set as ‘Active’ before
initiating any activity.

 Time frame for removing details of prospective customers is


definable in the COMPANY Table.

 All these features are available if the CRM module is installed.

 Unique and up to 10 digits.

 Given Name or Family Name


 Only required if the CRM Module is installed.

 Full Name
 Will be used to form the address of the customer.

 Short Name
 Multilingual. Used for online enrichment.

 Customer Mnemonic
 Alternative ID.
 Memory aid and unique.
 Can be used in place of the Customer ID in any T24 application.

Gender and Title


 This information is required by the CRM Module.

For a chosen Sector it is possible to default values for:


 Account Officer, Industry, Target, Customer Status, Nationality and Residence.
 To be predefined in the CUSTOMER.DEFAULT table.

Language
 Language for correspondence.

Address Details (tab ‘Physical Address’)


 Address details for correspondence.
 Used as default first print address.
 System maintains details in DE.ADDRESS .
 Only mandatory if defined so in the CUSTOMER.DEFAULT table.

Notice that the customer number (=ID) is automatically generated.

 Complete the following basic details:


You can click on any field name to look at the help text.

 ‘Short Name’, ‘First Name’, ‘Last Name’.


 ‘Mnemonic’: an alternative easy and unique customer reference.
(Note: no spaces in between characters).
 ‘Gender’
(Note: when you choose the gender you have to choose a title,
too).
 ‘Sector’, ‘Industry’, ‘Target’, ‘Nationality’ and ‘Residence’.
 Fill in other details like the ‘Street name’ and ‘Phone Number’.
 Commit the record.

EB.DUPLICATE.TYPE

 Rules for checking whether a customer record is

likely to be a duplicate of another customer record.

 ID is alpha numeric. Can be designed to reflect

nature of rules.

 Application for which duplicate check is


intended
should be indicated in APPLICATION field.

 Field values that are to be compared for determining whether the transaction
is duplicate or not are indicated in Multi Value Fields.
 If Name and Post Code are indicated, a transaction will be termed as duplicate, if
its name as well as post code are the same as of another customer record.

 The ID of EB.DUPLICATE.TYPE should be attached to the


CUSTOMER.DEFAULT application for a given sector.

 Duplicate customer records can be merged in T24:


 Links the duplicate customer records together.
 New fields are added to the CUSTOMER application for merging and unmerging.
 Unmerged field used for unmerging customers.

 Below customer 111449 is merged with customer 111446

 Here we see how customer 111446 is updated by T24

 Details of all limits, collaterals, loans, securities, etc. of this


customer are displayed.

 The user of T24 may be running a


combination of T24 modules and non-T24 systems for their
products but maintain all their customer records in T24.

 In such a scenario T24’s customer position should be showing a 360°


view of the customer with arrangement balances from both T24 and
non-T24 modules.

 Possible to drill down by means of an Enquiry using


CUS.POS.ENQ.PARAM file.
