 It is an online test which checks your level of English as an
individual or as a group of people.

Listening and Reading
 This is an adaptive test so the tasks don’t come in a specific order.
 There is not fixed time for this module but it may take between 60
and 85 minutes.
 The test will finish when you have answered enough questions for
the computer to identify your English level.

This part of the test consists of short and longer recordings. You can hear each recording
twice.

 Read and select: read a note, news, diagram, label, etc., with a
short text and choose a sentence of three (A, B or C) that most
closely resembles the meaning of the text. (Similar to B1
Preliminary Reading Part 1)
 Gapped sentences: read a sentence with a gap and choose the
best option (A, B, C or D) to fill in the gap. (Similar to Reading &
Use of English Part 1 in B2 First, but at phrase level)
Reading  Multiple-choice gap-fill: choose the correct word or phrase to fill
gaps in a text (A, B, C or D). (Similar to Reading & Use of English
Part 1 in B2 First)
 Open gap-fill: fill the gaps in a text. A single word can be written
in each hole. (Similar to Reading & Use of English Part 2 in B2
First)
 Extended reading: read a longer text and answer a series of
multiple choice questions.

Writing
 There are two parts of the writing test
 Part 1: write an email of at least 50 words (approximately 15 min.)
Tasks  Part 2: write a letter or report of about 180 words (approximately
30 min.)
Speaking
 There are 5 parts. It is done on a computer, the answers are
recorded and corrected by a Cambridge oral examiner.
 Part 1: answer 8 questions about yourself
 Part 2: read 8 sentences aloud
 Part 3 : Talk about a topic for 1 minute, with 40 seconds of
Tasks preparation.
 Part 4 : Talk about an image for 1 minute. The image has a graph,
table, etc., that the candidate must comment.
 Part 5: the candidate gives her opinion in the form of short
answers to 5 questions about a specific topic. You have 1 minute of
preparation.
