Background of the Study

It is inevitable that in the near future mankind would fully made use of the

technology for own advancements. And it is highly observable in the society

that almost everyone owns atleast one technology. As all know it, electricity

is of great use for appliances to work. Nowadays, electricity becomes a

necessity to every individual for it serves as a daily basis of living starting

from home.
Imagine that at least each individual around the world amounting to almost seven (7) billion

contributes to air pollution, how will the ozone layer could handle it? Not to mention those sites

that create thick smokes such as industrial buildings, powerplants as well as machines like

vehicles. These doings only speed up global warming which in definition is the heating of the

earth but heat is not the real problem, cold is. At the end of global warming extreme cold will take

place which will wipe out life on earth - terrific. In the article written by Ritchie and Roser

(2017), global warming and climate change have a range of potential ecological, physical and

health impacts, including extreme weather events such as floods, droughts, storms, and

heatwaves; sea-level rise; and disrupted water system.


According to the recent study, global warming is a natural phenomenon wherein
ice age follows. Through this research, the perception of students with regards to
the significance of electric vehicle as a contributor in reducing air pollution will
be evaluated along with the mindset of the respondents whether this strategy
would be successful or not.
This research could bring huge leap on the preservation and for caring the most
important part of the atmosphere that protects living creatures from dangers
brought by harmful radiations which was dubbed as ozone layer.
Statement of the Problem
The main purpose of the study was to establish the perceptions of students
regarding the significance of electrical vehicle and to know whether its
implementation as one of the tools to solve a global problem and to minimize
greenhouse gas emission.
This study sought to answer the following questions:
1. What are the perceptions of Masbate National Comprehensive High School
(MNCHS) Students about electrical vehicle in reducing greenhouse gas
emission or air pollution?
2. What are the main causes of the increasing rate on the emission of
greenhouse gasses?
3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using Electrical vehicle?
Scope and Delimitation of the Study
The study has chosen the percentage of how current vehicles contribute to the increase
of greenhouse gas emissions or air pollution as data to be investigated through the use of
electrical vehicle. The researchers also used questionnaire as an instrument for this
research, it was expected that there were 44 students from all sections of Masbate
National Comprehensive High School, S.Y. 2018-2019 had completed the tests as a mean
of gathering the method data. The study is expected to be completed in the month of
March S.Y. 2019.
The researchers used a descriptive research design to elaborate and explain
further the given data. The researcher’s also use simple random sampling to
have a fair selection on choosing the respondents. The researchers’ general
purposed were to encourage the consumers or owners of different types of
vehicles to purchase or used electrical vehicle for this were for the all people,
the environment and also be able to contribute to society particularly in
reducing greenhouse gas emission. This study’s scope limits the students’
learning on whether using electrical vehicle have great impact on reducing air
pollution.
Significance of the Study
Researchers expected that the findings of this study will be beneficial to the
following:
To the people
To raise awareness about the bad effects of too much greenhouse gas emission
To the students
It will serve as a factual reference to whosoever wants to know more about the
perceptions of Filipino people about the significance of electrical vehicle in
reducing greenhouse gas emission.
To the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)
This study will give them a hint or knowledge of what necessary action they
needed to take with regards to the said global problem which is the inevitable
greenhouse gas emission.
To the future Researchers
This study may help future researchers who aim to study the same or related
subject matters as to the research. It helps to understand the significance of
electrical vehicle in reducing air pollution.
