EMS is Equipment Management System software to manage
and monitor the hardware system and transmission network
and coordinate the work of the transmission network.

The interface between NCP and EMS is Qx. It complies with


TCP/IP.
NCP Config.

Functional states of NCP board

 Download state  used to download the NCP application and IP


setting
 Running state  used to start the NCP application program,
implements the NE service and EMS monitoring
functions
NCP Config.

Download state

Set the 4-digit DIP switch (S1) on NCP board to all ON state and reset NCP.
The system will enter to the download state.
In download state:
NE IP address: 192.192.192.11
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
NCP Config.

IP Config

1. While NCP is in download state, connect the EMS computer to the


Ethernet interface of NCP for S330 or S200 with a Ethernet cable.

2. For EMS computer, set:


 IP address: 192.192.192.X (X ≠ 11)
 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
NCP Config.

3. Run the command prompt and execute the “ping 192.192.192.11”


command on the EMS computer to confirm that the EMS computer
can connect to NCP.

4. Execute the “telnet 192.192.192.11” command, the prompt “ZTE+>”


appears.

Username : zte

Password : ecc
NCP Config.

5. Input the command “d-cfgnet” to set the IP address.

 NE IP Address format : byte1.byte2.byte3.byte4

byte1  area code


It ranges from 1 to 223.
Area 192 is defined as the backbone area.
Normally, recommended for non-backbone areas: 193~201
byte2,3  NE ID
In the same area, each NE must have a unique NE ID.
byte4  NCP board number
It range from 9 to 100, and 18 is recommended.

 NE subnet mask: 255.255.255.0


 Gateway IP address: input the same as NE IP Address
 MAC Address: x1:x2:x3 which x(i) is the last two digits of byte(i)
NCP Config.

6. Input the command “d-reboot” to reboot the NCP board, and the
NE information configuration will take effect.

7. Set the DIP switch to Running state (not all ON state and also not
all OFF state ) then reset the board.
Wait for the NCP reboot.
NCP Config.

8. Set the IP address of EMS computer to be within the same network


section as the NE IP address.
