government to an individual, business, or legal

name, symbol, or device to distinguish its
products or services from those from any
other entity in the marketplace. Trademarks
must be registered
Trade Secrets

A law that requires that the intellectual


property to be protected, not publicly
disclosed. It holds commerical practices
example KFC’s 11 Spices and herbs.
Industrial designs
An industrial design constitutes the ornamental or aesthetic
aspect of an article. A design may consist of three-dimensional
features, such as the shape or surface of an article, or of two-
dimensional features, such as patterns on furniture, lines or
colour on carpets
