Imagery in Senses

1. No adjectives allowed.
2. You will use imagery and
figures of speech to describe
each of the two items from
imagination and from where you
are.
3. Maximum of ten words per
item. Write in full sentences.
4. There should be a total of ten
sentences for all items.

(Imagination)
1. calming of rain: A rain roars from above, below
trickles a whispering rain. (Personification)
2.odor of flowers: The fragrance of the bouquet is to die
for.(hyperbole)
3.Squishy Dog : As I’m Petting my dog his skin is like
butter (Simile)
4.Sweet Cake: the taste of cake punches my tongue
with flavor.(personification)
5.Noise of Fan: And then a buzzing fan puts feathers on
my face. (Onomatopoeia)

1.Alarm : the world shakes from rows of sirens deafening me to
wake. (Hyperbole)

2.Cactus: A skin similar to grass will bring you pain from its sharp
blade. (Metonymy)

3.Pillow: A coziness beneath me brings the beast inside me to


sleep.(Metaphor)

4.Taste of bevarage: As the oceans sweat seasons my taste


soon will be a dessert. (Metaphor)

5.light of a light bulb: A lightbulb doesn’t diminish a room, but


expresses its uniqueness (Lithosis)
Imagery in the Genres
1. Using the prompts from your previous
activity, you are to create vignette
writing.
2. Wordplay: In your virtual notebook,
separate the objects from the figures of
speech like cards.
3. You are to cast aside the senses label
and work only with the objects and
figures of speech.
4. You should be holding to 10 cards or
slides of your virtual notebook
5. Shuffle all of the cards until you arrive to
the combination of your liking when you
place them side-by-side. You must do all
three genres.

For poetry create at least three verses


For fiction: one paragraph about the setting
For drama: produce five conversational lines
 
Vignette: A short, but descriptive writing style
Write in your Genre
Try to imagine and visualize the situation.
Use some of your sensory senses and
objects, figures of speech.
Submit a draft story, a play or poem based
on the situation
.
Fiction: Write a paragraph describing the
setting of the story and the two characters.
Be aware of the details
Play: Write a half-page dialogue of the two
characters. Make sure the characters have
different personalities that is revealed
through their dialogues.
Poem: Write one six to eight lines
addressing the difference between the two
kids and their preference. Use images and
figurative language.
Answers are to be written in your virtual
notebook

Sally: Alice! Alice! Wanna play with me!
(Alice runs towards Infront of Sally, but Sally stops her)
Alice: No thank you, I am just doing fine over here. Can yo--
Sally: But Alic!!!--- (Alice puts finger up to her mouth)
(Alice interrupts sally)
Alice: I love where I am right now. It is warm, fuzzy and wasn’t loud
you came here.
(Sally tries to pull Alice’s arm, but she wont move)
Sally: *panting* but todays a great day to have fun. I don’t have anyone
to bike with, so I will just be alone. *pant*Try to feel cotton as we bake
down the road beside us' ome on *pant* don’t be a buzz kill
Alice.*pant*
( Sally pulls her arm one last time before letting go)
Sally: Can you at least try to catch butterflies with me?
Alice: Sally! it not the end of the world. I really want to finish this book.
And your not helping by being here acting as a cat .
Sally: okay……
(Sally leaves disappointed, while Alice is regretting what she said)
Alice: *timidly waves* Hey Sally! Would you like instead that we read
this book together.
(And like a lightning bolt Sally turns and walks back to allice)
(both sit down and read the book together)
