Lecture 4:
Starting a Development
Select Your Game Genre:
Genre is one of the vital parts of your games. At the beginning of your project, you need to select
your game genre first. And also need to figure out global market expectation. Your first game will
hit or flop depending on what kind of game genre you select for your project. So, our suggestion
is to finalize your game genre as the basis of your capability, resources, and customer expectation.
Take time and figure out the best one.\

Examples of some best game genre:


● Action Game
● Sports Game
● Battle Royale Game
● Racing Game
● Strategy Game
● Fighting Game

Select Your Platfrom:
A computing platform or digital platform is the environment in which a piece of the
game is executed. So, the platform is also a vital part of your game. You need to choose the right
platform as the basis of market expectation. Your capability and limitation also depend on that. If
you made a low graphics game for play station, it probably a wrong decision for you. Recent time
play stations demand high graphics games. Our suggestion is mobile or Pc platform is the right
choice for your beginning project.

● Microsoft Windows
● Android
● iOS
● macOS
● Play Station 4
● Xbox One

Select Your Game Mode:
You also need to select your game mode. Either it single-player  or multiplayer as
the basis of your game storyline. Also, another thing you need to decide if you
are choosing an action game genre. Your game is either first-person shooter (FPS)
or third-person shooter. We discuss briefly shooting mode in our upcoming lectures.
