Rain Water Harvesting

Rainwater harvesting has been made mandatory for new buildings in Indore, Madhya Pradesh over 250 sqm in area or those with more than 3 floors. A 6% rebate on property taxes is offered as an incentive. Rainwater harvesting methods must be provided on buildings over 140 sqm and include percolation pits, recharge wells, or diverting rainwater into pebble beds or wells. Service floors in high-rise buildings typically occur every 10 floors to house utilities and are only accessible by service elevators, with a reduced height of around 2.4 meters.

rain water by means of sufficient rain-water pipes of adequate size .
Rain-water pipes shall be affixed to the outside of the external walls of the
building

Rainwater harvesting has been made mandatory in all new buildings with an area
of 250 sq m or more.
RWH has been made mandatory for G + 3 structures.
 

A rebate of 6 per cent on property tax has been offered as an incentive for
implementing rainwater harvesting systems.
Rain water harvesting method shall have to be provided on all type of buildings
having plot size more than 140 Square meter

•As a rule of thumb, skyscrapers require a mechanical floor for every
10 tenant floors (10%)
•In some buildings they are clustered in groups that divide the building
• into blocks,
• in others they are spread evenly through the structure,
• while in others still they are mostly concentrated at the top.

Mechanical floors are generally counted in the building's floor numbering but are
accessed only by service elevators.

The height of the mechanical floor is less than the normal floor heights of the building.
Height = 2.4 m apprx
