Social Work Settings: Primary and Secondary Settings

Social work is performed in various primary and secondary settings. Primary settings are agencies directly involved in social work like children's funds and welfare departments. Secondary settings are organizations like hospitals, schools, and corporations that employ social workers to support their services, though social work is not their main function. Social workers provide help in areas like mental health, disabilities, youth, corrections, family, and more across these different primary and secondary setting types.
