Change Impact Analysis Process
Purpose
The purpose of the Change Impact Analysis Process is to define the level of impact the
changes associated with the SAP S/4HANA Cloud project and to determine appropriate
change management measures which meet the stakeholder requirements and support the
transition to the new ways of working/organization. It is a sub-process in the OCM analysis
& planning task in the solution adoption work stream .

Purpose is Met By:


 Assessing the impact of change on identified stakeholders

 Identifying level of impact on business processes, organization, i.e. role profiles/ tasks, technology and behavior/ culture

 Defining appropriate organizational transition activities

 Validating that the change network concept meets business needs based on change impacts

 Identifying the appropriate communication activities for different stakeholder groups

 Providing an high level overview on learning needs

1. Review result of stakeholder identification


2. Add all stakeholder groups that are impacted by process changes
3. Include further stakeholder into the process and update
stakeholder identification accordingly, if you identify them during
the Change Impact Analysis
4. Please note: If multiple stakeholder groups are facing similar
changes in the same process, you can combine them to analyze
change impacts and implications. If multiple stakeholder groups
are facing different changes in the same process, you need to
analyze change impacts and implications separately.

2 – low change
3 – medium change

2. Create a heat map indicating the category (low, medium, high) per

3. Optional: Map the change impacts per process (x-axis) with the number
of impacted end users in a chart (y-axis)
