Legend, also known as folktale, is a type of folk narratives or stories handed down over generations and are believed to be based in history. Forms of folk literature? Myth, is a traditional sacred story, which usually narrates the activities of gods and heroes, and that can explain a natural phenomenon or cultural practice. Activity I Answer the following questions based on the story entitled “The Creation”.
1. In the creation myth, who created the world?
2. What did Lumawig create first? 3. What was the meaning of salt in this myth? 4. Why did Lumawig choose to give the clay pots and salt to the Samoki in the end? Activity II Answer the following questions based on the story entitled “Malakas at Maganda”.
1. Who are the main characters in the folktale?
2. How would you describe each character? 3. What is the story of the myth? Activity III Answer the following questions based on the story entitled “The Tortoise and the Monkey”.
1. How would you describe the monkey and the tortoise?
2. How they are different from each other? 3. What was the monkey planning to do? 4. Who would you say is the wiser of the two? Why? Literary Elements : 1. Plot is the series of events that unfold in the story. 2. Setting the location where the story takes place. 3. Characters the persons, figures, or animals involved in the story. Literary Elements : 1. Conflict is the struggle between two opposing forces or characters that gives rise to the dramatic action. 2. Climax the strongest part of the story where the conflict builds up the emotional peak. 3. Theme is the message of the story and essentially what the writer wants to convey. Activity IV Open your book on page 16 and 17, answer the literature activity 2 and literature activity 3. Write your answer in your notebook (or, in a piece of paper) then, picture it and upload it in the comment section of our Google classroom.
