YOUTH MORAL RECOVERY PROGRAM FOR NATION BUILDING

our strengths and this starts with analysis, understanding and
appreciation of these strengths and weaknesses.... we must change. And
understanding oneself is the first step.”
To give the strengths and weakness of Filipino, she proposes

• Develop in the Filipino a sense of patriotism and national pride. A genuine love,
appreciation and commitment to the Philippines and Filipino things.

• Develop a sense of the common good, the ability to look beyond selfish interest, a sense
of justice and sense of outrage at its violation.

• Develop value and habits of discipline and hard work, self-reflection and analysis, along
with the internalization of spiritual values.
A. Patriotism and National Pride

Patriotism GENERAL

7. Self-Control - temper your will and curb your passions. Long life, and happiness are the
fruits of moderation and self-control.
8. Frugality - live within your means and save part of your earning for a rainy days. Avoid
extravagance, pretense, and dissipation.

9. Perseverance - be persistent in whatever things of good report you may wish to do

10. Punctuality - do your work on time; leaving nothing undone that you can do today. Be
punctual.

11. Cleanliness - keep your body clean, your clothes neat, on your home and surrounding.

Natural Rights – conferred upon to human being by God - this cannot be

Civil Rights – rights granted by the state for promotion of common


welfare of individual citizen.
Ex: own property, enter into contracts, seek justice in the courts

Political Rights – conferred by the state to the people so


that they may participate in government.
Ex: citizenship, suffrage, speech, press, petition the government

Constitutional Rights – rights recognized are protected by the


constitution and part of the fundamental law of the land.
Ex: religion, choose one’s residence, freedom from slavery

Statutory Rights – conferred by statutes or law promulgated by law

Ex: right to inherit property, minimum wage, strike for higher wages
