To compare two things or more by
using adjective or adverb.
(Membandingkan dua benda atau lebih
menggunakan kata sifat/kata keterangan)
Degree of Comparison Types:
1 Positive

as + adjective + as

Kanaya is as smart as her brother.


(Kanaya sepintar adiknya)

Aisyah is as beautiful as her


mother.
(Aisyah secantik ibunya)
Degree of Comparison Types:
2 Comparative (Lebih dari)

 If adjective has one syllable

Adjective + -er + than

Ahmad is taller than Fiko


(Ahmad lebih tinggi dari Fiko)

Salsa is younger than Alma


(Salsa lebih muda dari Alma)
Comparative
 If adjective has two syllable and
ends in –y: happy, easy, lazy

Change –y to –i and add –er + than

English is easier than Math


(Bahasa Inggris lebih mudah dari Matematika)

Wendy is lazier than Alfa


(Wendy lebih malas dari Alfa)

 If adjective more than two
syllable

more + adjective + than

Ahmad is more diligent than Fiko


(Ahmad lebih rajin dari Fiko)

3 Superlative (Paling)

 If adjective has one syllable

The + Adjective + -est

Ahmad is the tallest in the class


(Ahmad paling tinggi di kelas)

Salsa is the youngest in the class


(Salsa paling muda di kelas)

 If adjective more than two
syllable

The most + adjective

Ahmad is the most diligent in his


family
(Ahmad paling rajin di keluarganya)

I think the Avenger is the most

(Menurutku Avenger adalah film paling menarik)
