Theoretical Framework of Ob

The document discusses three theoretical frameworks for understanding organizational behavior: 1. The cognitive framework is based on human expectancy, demands, and intentions, and is useful for analyzing perception, personality, motivation, and decision-making. 2. The behaviourist framework views behavior as responses to stimuli in the environment, rather than studying the mind. It focuses on observable behavior and environmental influences. 3. The social cognitive framework combines cognitive and behavioural frameworks, explaining behavior as the result of continuous and reciprocal interaction between cognitive, behavioral, and environmental factors, as well as influence from relevant past experiences.

THEORETICAL

FRAMEWORK
FOR

ORGANIZATIONAL
BEHAVIOUR
Introduction
Organizational behaviour is a study of
behaviour which is not visible , some
theories are developed which will
give a framework to understand ,
predict and manage the behaviour of
the human being in the organization .
FRAMEWORK
•Cognitive Framework
•Behaviouristic Framework
•Social Cognitive Framework
Cognitive Framework
 Cognition means the mental process or mental action
of acquiring knowledge . It can be understood through
thought experience and the senses.
 Psychological process involved in acquisition and
understanding of knowledge , formations of beliefs and
attitudes , and decision making and problem solving.
The framework is simply a basic structure of any
system.
Mental process involved in knowing and learning and
understanding things .*
For example :- As a children grow older , their cognitive
process become sharper .
Cognitive framework ob is based on
the concept of :
•The Expectancy of the the human being.
•The Demand of the human being .
•The Intention of the human being.

Benefits of COGNITIVE FRAMEWORK

Useful in analyzing perception , Personality ,
motivation, decision making in the
organization .
BEHAVIOURISTICS FRAMEWORK
Pioneer behaviourists Ivan Pavlov and Jon B. Watson insist that it
is advisable and fruitful to study the behaviour of the human
being which is visible than studying the mind which is elusive in
nature. The concept of the Behavioural Framework of
Organizational Behaviour can be clearly explained with the help
of Stimulus and response. This is also called as Behaviouristic
Framework of Organisational Behaviour.

# The concept of Behaviouristic Framework can be clearly explained with

the help of STIMULES and RESPONE .

# Stimulus is the force of action or motivation and response is the reaction or the
behaviour or the behaviour (S-R ) concept.
# Sinner advocates that Behaviour is not the outcomes of
stimulus alone , but it is an outcome which also depends
which also depends on contingent environmental
consequences of a behaviour . This mean that a human can
project different behaviour for the same stimulus and the
exhibit a response depending on environmental
consequences.

# Overall it can be said that Behavioural framework based

on observable behaviour and observable environmental
behaviour .
SOCIAL COGNITIVE FRAMEWORK
It combines both Cognitive and Behavioural Framework together .

The Social Cognitive Theory explains human behaviour in terms of continuous reciprocal
interaction among cognitive behaviour and environmental influences .

It means that along with cognitive and external situation the experiences faced through
relevant past events determines what a person becomes and this will create an impact in
subsequent behaviour .

Cognitive variables and environmental variables are relevant but the experience generate by
previous behaviour also partly determine what a person becomes and can do .
