Pang-uri
Ito ay tumutukoy sa mga salitang naglalarawan sa pangngalan ng tao, bagay, hayop,
lugar, o pangyayari.
It refers to words that describe the name of man, object, animal, place, or event. Tatlong Antas ng Pang-Uri
Lantay – ito ay nasa lantay na kaantasan kapag
walang ipinaghahambing na dalawa o maraming bagay. Ang mga halimbawa nito ay maganda, mataas, mabigat, at mahinahon. These are adjectives wherein there are no comparisons bearing two or many things. Its examples are beautiful, high, heavy, and calm. Tatlong Antas ng Pang-Uri Pahambing – ito ay nasa pahambing na antas kapag may pinaghahambing na dalawang pangngalan – tao, bagay, hayop, lugar, at pangyayari. Ang mga halimbawa nito ay mas maliit, mas malapad, at mas kasya.
Comparative Adjectives - it is at a comparison level when there are comparisons
between two names – persons, objects, animals, places, and events. Its examples are smaller, wider, and more fit. Tatlong Antas ng Pang-Uri
Pasukdol – ito ay nasa pasukdol na antas o
kaantasan kapag ito ay nagpapakita ng pangingibabaw sa lahat. Ang mga halimbawa nito ay pinakamatalino, pinakamatapang, at pinakamalaki. Superlative Adjectives - it is at the extreme level, when it shows dominance at all. Its examples are the wisest, the most courageous, and largest. Mga Halimbawa ng Pang-Uri:
• Lantay: Maganda si Loisa. (Loisa is beautiful.)
Pahambing: Mas maganda si Loisa kaysa kay Trina. (Loisa is more
beautiful than Trina.)
Pasukdol: Pinakamaganda si Loisa sa kanilang magkakaibigan. (Loisa is
the most beautiful among her friends.) Lantay: Mataas ang bundok ng Bicol. (The mountain in Bicol is high.)
Pahambing: Mas mataas ang bundok ng Bicol sa Davao. (The mountain
in Bicol is higher than the mountain in Davao.)
Pasukdol: Pinakamataas na bundok ang bundok sa Bicol. (The mountain
in Bicol is the highest.) Lantay: Maagang umuwi si Patrick kagabi. (Patrick went home early last night.)
Pahambing: Mas maagang umuwi si Patrick kagabi kaysa kay Jane.
(Patrick went home earlier than Jane last night.)
Pasukdol: Pinakamagaang umuwi si Patrick sa mga trabahador kagabi.
(Patrick went home earliest among the workers last night.) Lantay: Bago ang bahay ng Pamilya Ramirez. (The house of Ramirez family is new.)
Pahambing: Higit na mas bago ang bahay ng Pamilya Ramirez kaysa
Pamilya Cruz. (Ramirez's house is much newer than the Cruz Family.)
Pasukdol: Pinakabago sa kanilang lugar ang bahay ng Pamilya Ramirez.
(Ramirez's home is newest in their area.) Lantay: Malakas ang ulan kaya hindi kami agad nakaalis. (The rain was strong that we didn't get away immediately.)
Pahambing: Magkasing-lakas ang ulan ngayon sa ulan kahapon. (The rain
now is as strong as it was in the rain yesterday.)
Pasukdol: Pinakamalakas na ulan ngayong linggo ang ulan noong sabado.
(The rain today is the strongest since this Saturday.)
