Wildfire

A wildfire is an uncontrolled fire that can damage property and life. They are caused by human activities like arson, as well as natural phenomena like lightning strikes, volcanic eruptions, heat waves, and droughts. Wildfires come in different types depending on where they burn - in trees, on the surface, or underground. They pollute the air and negatively impact public health. Tornadoes are violently rotating columns of air that extend from a thunderstorm to the ground. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can cause extensive damage and loss of human life. The characteristics, causes and effects of wildfires and tornadoes were described.

WILDFIRE

WHAT IS A WILDFIRE ?

1) A WILDFIRE is an uncontrolled fire that is wiping out large fields and areas
Of land.

2) Wildfires can also be termed forest fires, grass, fires , peat fires, and bush fires
Depending on type of vegetation being burnt.

3) Wildfires can cause damage to property and human life , but they have many
Beneficial effects on native vegetation, animals, and ecosystem that have envolved
With fire.
CAUSES OF WILDFIRES
HUMAN BEINGS

LIGHTNING

VOLCANIC ERUPTION

HEAT WAVES

DROUGHTS

CYCLICAL CLIMATE CHANGES

EFFECTS OF WILDFIRE

 Wildfires increase air pollution in surrounding areas

And can affect regional air quality . The effects of smoke
From wildfires can range from eye and respiratory tract
Irritation to more serious disorders, including reduced lung
Function, bronchitis, exacerbation of asthma and heart
Failure , and premature death.
TYPES OF WILDFIRE
 Ground fires
 Surface fires
 Crown fires

 Crown fires burn trees up their entire length to the top

 Surface fires burn only surface litter and duff
 Ground fire ( sometimes called underground or subsurface fires )
Occur in deep accumulations of humus, peat and similar dead vegetation
That become dry enough to burn.
WHAT IS TORNADO
A tornado is a violently rotating column of air that is in
Contact with both the surface of the earth and a
Cumulonimbus cloud or, in rare cases , the base of a cumulus
Cloud. It is often referred to as a twister, whirlwind or cyclone,
Although the word cyclone is used in meteorology to name a
Weather system with a low-pressure area in the center around
Which , from an observer looking down toward the surface of
The earth, winds blow counterclockwise in the northern
Hemisphere and clockwise in the southern . Tornado come in
Many shapes and sizes, and they are often visible in the form
Of a condensation funnel originating from the base of a
Cumulonimbus cloud , with a cloud of rotating debris and
Dust beneath it. Most tornado have wind speeds less than
110 miles per hour (180 km/h) , are about 250 feet (80 m )
Across , and travel a few miles ( several kilometers) before
Dissipating . The most extreme tornados can attain wind
Speeds of more than 300 miles per hour ( 480 km/ h) are
More than two miles ( 3 km) in diameter , and stay on the
Ground for dozens of miles ( more than 100 km).
 WATERSPOUT.
TYPES OF TORNADO
A column of spinning wind that forms
Downward from a cumulus cloud down
To any body of water.

DUST DEVILS.
they are swirls that go up and fizzle out in the clean
air, and they are not connected to the clouds while spinning.

SUPERCALL TORNADOES.
They biggest and the strongest .
They spin under a thunderstorm and their winds can get up to 300 mph.

LANDSPOUT
A narrow vortex that forms over land under several columns of cumulus
clouds. Winds can reach up to 140 mph and only last for several minutes.

FIREWHIRLS
Can occur near any intense surface heat source, and near intense wildfires.

GUSTNADO.
A small vertical swirl associated with a gust front or downburst .
that are not connected with a cloud base.
CHARACTERISTIC OF TORNADO
 Tornados come in many shapes and sizes.
 Typically in the form of funnel shape.
 Most tornados have wind speeds between ( 64 km/h and 177 km/ h )
And stretch more than 75 m across.
 They could travel a few miles before dissipating.

characteristics
 A typical tornado travels at around 10-20 miles per hour.
 Most tornado occur during the months of may, June , July,
And august in the late afternoon and evenings .
Usually occurs in:
1. Tornado alley region in us.
2. North America .
3. South America .
4. South – central and eastern asia .
5. Australia .
6. New Zealand .
7. Philippines .
EFFECTS OF TORNADO

 Tornado can make people die.

 At each year 5000 average number of people were died.
 The deadliest tornado in world history was the daultipur-salturia
Tornado in Bangladesh on April 26, 1989, which killed approximately
1300 people.
