Introduction to Foundation

Economics 2020/21
Welcome to Economics

• There are two Economics teachers in Term 1

• Orlando Hill Orlando.hill@intoglobal.com

Teaching structure
• There will be pre-recorded lectures.

• These lectures will be split into 3 or 4 15 minute parts.

• After each part you will be asked to complete some activities


before moving on to the next part.

• Each week you will have a seminar where we will have


questions and discussions related to your lessons.
Economics Subject Areas

• There will be a number of different subjects to look at in


Economics.

• However, the basic structure is

• Term 1 Microeconomics – How Markets Work

• Term 2 Macroeconomics – How Economies Work


Assessments (Coursework based)

• There are three assignments for this subject

• Essay 1 (Microeconomics) Term 1 – 20%

• Economics Presentation Term 2 – 40%

• Essay 2 (Macroeconomics) Term 3 – 20%


Assessments (Ongoing)

• There are also Continuous Assessment Activities


(mainly quizzes) Weekly – (20%)

• Term 1 - 10%

• Term 2 - 10%
