Circle

This document defines circles and provides examples of transforming circle equations from general form to standard form. It defines key circle concepts like radius, diameter, and center. It then works through 5 examples of transforming circle equations to standard form and finding the center and radius. The document concludes with an activity asking the reader to reduce circle equations to standard form and write circle equations given conditions like center and radius/diameter.

Circle
Definition:
A Circle is the locus of a point that moves in a plane so that its
distance from a fixed point remains constant, circle may also
be considered a special kind of ellipse.
Radius is the constant distance (segment connecting the center
and any point on the circle).
Center is the fixed point (not on curve of a circle) equidistant
from any point on the circle.
Diameter is the longest chord of a circle , that is one
connecting any two points of a circle and passing through the
center
