The document discusses the invention of the voltage transformer. It notes that the first electrical transformer was built by Michael Faraday in 1831 using two coils of wire wound on top of each other. Transformers consist of two or more coils of wire that transfer electrical energy through a changing magnetic field. When the current through one coil varies, it induces a current in the second coil. The student believes transformers revolutionized development by being a key element in generating, transmitting, and distributing electrical energy.

The first electrical transformer was built by Michael Faraday in 1831, when he was about to carry out the experiments in which he would later discover electromagnetic induction. The elements he used were two coils wound on top of each other Transformers are electrical devices consisting of two or more coils of wire used to transfer electrical energy by means of a changing magnetic field As the current through one coil varied, the magnetic flux through the second coil varied and an electric current was induced. I think that transformers revolutionized the development of mankind because they are a key element in the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy.
