Benchmark - School Wide Character Education Proposal: Nevada Fox EAD-520 Dr. Goeke 9/21/2022

This powerpoint proposes implementing a character education program called Virtues-A-Month-Program (VAMPS) at a school. It would teach one character trait per month. Research shows character education can decrease bullying, improve mental health, and reduce misbehavior. The program goals are to scaffold student learning of traits through differentiation, engage students through modeling good behavior, and build a strong school culture through student voice. Teachers would receive training and create lesson plans. Evaluation would include student journals and projects reflecting on lessons and community involvement.

Programs
This program Virtues-A-Month-Program, VAMP, is not like
other programs as it focuses on one trait a month and to
really have students practice the one trait so that they really
get the trait and what it looks like in their lives. This
matches the mission and vision statement as we want to
instill all the students with these virtues. These virtues can
reach the whole campus and create an amazing school
culture.
