Introduction:
 A screw jack is a device by which a heavy load can be lifted by applying
very little forces.

 Car jack is a type of the screw jack which is generally used to lift the car
specifically when the car is to be repaired
Literature review & Survey
A screw jack is portable device that consisting of a lead screw mechanism used to
raise the load. They used to convert rotary motion into linear motion. The
problem of type puncher is common in now day. Now a day the technology
increase and manual effort get decrease. The screw jack mostly available in the
market is of the manual type which required more effort. Weight after some limit
can’t lift by a human for which some devices, tools and equipment ae used. These
lead to fatigue to human. To remove these problem, saving time reduce effort. We
fabrication this jack. They can be short, tall, fat or him depending on the amount
of load and space available. The hi-tech jacks are available in the market but due
to high cost, these can’t be owned by everyone. In screw jack the square threads
most commonly used because these threads are very strong and able to resist the
large load. It also has self-locking properties. The mechanical advantages of
screw jacks is the ratio of the load applied to the effort required/applied.
Objectives
 In several automobile garages, revealed the facts that mostly some
difficult methods were adopted in lifting the vehicles for
reconditioning.
 Hence a suitable device has been designed, such that the vehicle
can be lifted form the floor land without application of any impact
force.
 In order to avoid all such disadvantage, the motorized jack has been
designed in such a way that it can be used to lift the vehicle very
smoothly without any impact force.
Details About Motorized Screw Jack
 A screw jack is a portable device consisting of a screw mechanism used to
raise or lower the load.

 A hydraulic jack consists of a cylinder and piston mechanism. The


movement of the piston rod is used to raise or lower the load.

 Mechanical jacks can be either hand operated or power driven.

 It Works In Vertical Manner In Order to raise or lower the load.


Automatic Screw Jack

It is a type of jack that is operated by Turning Lead Screw.

Frame is generally used for supporting the entire load
of the Screw Jack

 Motor is generally used to transmit Rotary Motion to
Reciprocating Motion.
 Specifications of Motor Used in this project:
• POWER – 12 W RPM - 36 TO 40
• Rotation – Both Direction
•Sound – 50 db (Low Noise)
• Shaft
• A Shaft is used to transmit power from Motor to the
Jack which is coupled to it.
Battery and Power supply
 A 12 Volt (7.5 Ah and initial current – 2.1 A) battery is used
in this project to run the Automatic Screw Jack.
 Switches are used to provide current to the Jack according
to the required work

• Conclusion
 Screw Jacks are the ideal product to push, pull, lift, lower and
position loads of anything from a couple of kilograms to hundreds of
tones.

 The need has long existed for an improved portable jack for
automotive vehicles.

 The Primary Thing Is That It Should Be Capable of lifting a wheel of


a 4,000-5,000 pound vehicle off the ground.

 Further, it should be stable and easily controllable by a switch so that


jacking can be done from a position of safety.
