Congruent Triangles

The document discusses different types of triangles based on side lengths and angle measures. It defines congruent triangles as triangles with the same size and shape such that corresponding parts are congruent. It introduces several triangle congruence postulates and theorems including SSS, SAS, ASA, AAS, right triangle theorems like LL, LA, HA, and HL. Examples are provided to determine if pairs of triangles are congruent and identify the postulate/theorem that proves congruence.

CONGRUENT
TRIANGLES
Congruent Triangles are triangles
with the same size and shape such
that when one placed over the other,
there is a one- to-one
correspondence between the
different parts of the two triangles.
In other words, two triangles are
congruent if after pairing their
vertices, the corresponding sides and
angles are congruent.
Example

∆ 𝐴𝐵𝐶 ≅ 𝐷𝐸𝐹
Corresponding parts
∠ 𝐴≅∠𝐷 𝐴𝐵 ≅ 𝐷𝐸
∠ 𝐵≅∠ 𝐸 𝐵𝐶 ≅ 𝐸𝐹
