according to features:
Enumeration
(EN5RC-IVa-3.2. 8)
1. What is the text about?
2. How many steps in the
process are given in the
text?
3. What are those steps?
Enumeration
An enumeration paragraph
or text lists the kinds,
characters, classes, types,
partways, and groups of a
thing or subject.
Transition/signal words
are used to show
enumeration. These are:
in many ways, such as
first or one, second, next,
and so on.
Example 1
The earth surface is constantly changing through slow
processes that we don’t usually see. One is erosion. This
has worn away rocks and mountains over million of
years, caused by air, water, and wind. Another change
is caused by earthquakes that originate deep inside the
planet. More sudden and violent than erosion, an
earthquake results when strains between Earth’s plates
produce shock waves. And the third process results
when molten rock-forming material called lava, escapes
onto the surface through gaps on the crust. What we
experience is volcanic eruption.
Example 2
There are actually many ways by which
people can avoid getting sick with COVID-19. All
they need to do is to get serious about following
the health protocols or practices that ensure the
protection of the community and the prevention
of the disease. These activities include washing
hands regularly, using sanitizer and alcohol
often, wearing masks in places in the presence
of other people, avoiding crowded areas, and
observing social distancing.
Example 3
Marivic made a Tuna sandwich. First,
she prepared the Tuna spread and the
loaf of bread. Second, she spread the
Tuna on one slice of bread. After,
spreading the tuna on, she put the two
slices of bread together. Then, she
