DLT REGISTRATION AND

TEXTLOCAL PROCESS
SMS categorization
There are 4 category in which we apply for SMS
approval based on the need.

1. Service Implicit SMS

2. Service Explicit SMS

3. Promotional SMS

4. Transactional SMS
1. Service Implicit SMS

I. Service Implicit SMS is used to send OTPs,


informational messages, booking and order
alerts to your registered customers. These
should not be intended for marketing.
II. Service Implicit SMS can be sent 24x7 with
no time restriction.
III. Service Implicit SMS can be sent via 6-
character alpha Header approved for your
business in DLT platforms.
2. Service Explicit SMS

I. Service Explicit SMS is used to send offers,


discounts, or updates regarding services to
existing customers.
II. Service Explicit SMS can be sent 24x7 without
any time restriction. 
III. Service Explicit SMS can be sent via 6-character
alpha Header approved for your business in DLT
platforms.
3. Promotional SMS

I. Promotional SMS is used to send offers,


discounts, or promotions. The messages
may or may not be solicited by the
recipients.
II. Promotional SMS can be sent only between 
10 AM and 9 PM
III. Promotional SMS will be delivered with a 6-
digit numeric Header approved for your
business in DLT platforms.
4. Transactional SMS

I. Transactional SMS can only be used by Banks


to send OTPs and alerts.
II. Transactional SMS can be sent 24x7 with no
time restriction
III. Transactional SMS can be sent via 6-character
alpha character Header corresponding to the
Bank’s name
STEPS REQUIRED FOR DLT REGISTRATION

Here we can mention the steps but


there is not need to do it again as it is
already done by the Redmil Team.
STEPS REQUIRED FOR DLT SMS REGISTRATION
1. Login the DLT portal

2. Click on Consent template registration

3. Panel will be open

4. Now fill the details as per SMS requirement(Implicit/Explicit)

5. Replace the content variable with the {#var#}

6. Kindly make sure that the varible value should not be more than
30 characters. As variable length is 30 characters only. If your
variable value is more than 30 caharcters than use 2 varible at
that place.

7. Apply for the Approval

8. You will get an approval mail on the registered email ID of DLT.


TEXT LOCAL REGISTRATION NEED
1. DLT platform take 3-4 days for SMS approval.
2. After approval from DLT we apply same SMS on textlocal for the approval.
3. SMS delivery need a SMS platform from where it will be shoot. So Redmil is using
textlocal for the SMS delivery.
4. It works if and only if your SMS is approved from DLT platform
5. DLT provide a unique template ID through which a template recognize as
approved.
STEPS REQUIRED FOR TEXTLOCAL APPROVAL
1. Login to textlocal platform.
2. Here one thing to keep in mind that we have three textlocal account. One
account is specifically for OTPs and second one is for all other SMS. Third one is
for Promotional SMS. We don’t deal with transactional SMS as this is for banks
only.
3. But for all the three accounts procedure is same.
4. After login Go to send option
5. Click on Template and Drafts
6. Click on ‘Request new Template’
STEPS REQUIRED FOR TEXTLOCAL TEMPLATE
APPROVAL
1. Title :- Enter Template Name
2. DLT template ID :- It is from given by DLT platform
3. Select Category :- Implicit/ Explicit/ Promotional
4. Choose Sender Name :- REDMIL / 196751
5. Message :- Apply approved DLT content here
6. Replace #var# with the “Insert merge field”
7. Tell the textlocal for which Insert merge field it
belongs to (Link/ OTPs/ content)
8. Click on ‘Request new template’
9. It will automatically approved within 2-3 hours.
SMS LENGTH AND CREDITS
1 CREDIT = 160 CHARACTERS
2 CREDIT = 306 CHARACTERS
3 CREDIT = 306 CHARACTERS
4 CREDIT = 459 CHARACTERS
5 CREDIT = 612 CHARACTERS
6 CREDIT = 765 CHARACTERS

*SMS over 6 credits can not be sent
