Abroad options below;

Academic Exchange
Study abroad on Academic Exchange at one of York’s 120+ international partner institutions, in more than 40 countries;
•Most students apply during their second year to spend their third year abroad.
•To Apply, firstly attend mandatory information session offered by York International. During this session more information will be provided.
•Using the online portal submit the online application, pay non-refundable $100 application fee.

Tuition and OSAP whilst on Academic Exchange
• Regular tuition is paid to York University, and not to the partner institution.
• OSAP is available to domestic students, normal eligibility and academic progress rules apply.
•OSAP application will be adjusted to reflect correct study period dates and adjustments may
be made to your ‘living status’, impacting the OSAP award. This could help with living costs.
• Student Financial Services, scholarships, awards and bursaries may be available. Complete
a Student Financial Profile;

Additional Funding for Academic Exchange
•Funding is available from the Faculty of LA&PS for up to $1,500 towards the additional costs of
going on an academic exchange. Could help towards travel and visa costs, if applicable.
•Eligible students must belong to LA&PS faculty, have a minimum GPA of 5.00 and have been
approved for one of the study abroad options;

Global Internships
Our Global Internships provide York undergraduate and graduate students a funded opportunity to intern in another country, or at an international
host within Canada, for 3 months during the summer, starting in May;
•Not for academic credit. (Except for GL/ILST 4300 6.00, SB/IBUS 4100 3.00 and SB/IMBA 5300 9.00)
•Students will receive the York International Internship Award of $3,000, payable in three instalments.
•For 2019/20 academic year, you must apply by January 10, 2019.

YorkU Summer Abroad
• International Study Abroad Award from LA&PS is also available of up to $2,000 for student completing more than 2 courses (6 Credits).
• York International Mobility Award (YIMA) may also be available.
Study up to 15 credits offered by the Faculty of Environmental Studies, from April 29 to June 30, 2019
Subject to confirmation, YorkU summer abroad courses could include courses in Italy (ADMS 4335 & 4336 6.0), Greece (HIST 3357 6.0) and South Korea.
