23-8-7 How To Use ICP

The document discusses how to use important check points (ICPs) to monitor construction projects. It provides examples of checklists and non-conformity reports used by the DGH. Characteristics of checklists and ICPs are compared. A schedule is outlined for developing ICPs over the next year and a half. Methods are described for trial usage of ICPs, including reporting best practices and common mistakes. Formats are provided for documenting this information.

How to use Important Check Point (ICP)

(Draft)

7 August 2023

By Kasamatsu

(JICA expert of construction monitoring team)

1. Example of Check List made by DGH
DGH makes following Check List (CIMAC) for PMI

1
2. Example of NCR
DGH makes NCR (Non conformity Report) based on the result of
Check List

2
3. Characteristics of Check List and ICP

Characteristics of Check List and ICP are different.

Both complement each other
Check List ICP
• Comprehensive • Focus important items
Characteri • Focus individual project • Focus on the process for
stics preventive measures
• Corrective action based on the • Provide information to other
specification projects also
1. Structure 1. Rigid pavement
2. Geometric 2. Concrete
3. Rigid pavement 3. Batching plant
Items 4. Flexible pavement 4. Embankment
5. Safety 5. Flexible pavement
6. Environment 6. Asphalt plant

6. Methods of implementing trial use of ICP
(1) Finds new Good Practice by PMI
 If PMI finds new Good Practice in the field, PMI shall complete the attached
form 【 No1 】
 The current Good Practices include Japanese cases, but eventually we would
like to replace them with Indonesian cases
 Good Practices is not to limit the excellent efforts to a single project site, but
to share information with all projects

(2) Monitor Common Mistake by PMI

 PMI identifies Common Mistake in the field and report to BPJT/DGH every
month 【 No3 】 - 【 No9 】
 Common mistakes are construction defects that are commonly seen in the
fields and need to be prevented from recurring
 At the beginning, 6 common mistakes are listed. If we can prevent them from
recurring, other common mistakes shall be listed next common mistakes
 PMI shall identify the other common mistake in the field and report BPJT/DGH
every month by attached form 【 No2 】

7
 BPJT/DGH monitors the Common Mistakes reported from PMI. If BPJT/DGH
considers the countermeasure is necessary, BPJT/DGH, PMI, and BUJT have
a meeting about the countermeasure
 BPJT/DGH is also providing SIMAC to PMI for filling in. Based on the result of
evaluation of SIMAC, new Common Mistake would be also introduced in the
future by BPJT/DGH

9. How to record damage on site
 To distinguish between new and old damage, record the following sign on site
 Crack shall be inspected after more than 7days from placement of concrete,
and before scaffolding removed at the site

Record the width and date of the crack which
