brought about by science and
technology in society.
COURSE OUTLINE

This course seeks to instill reflective knowledge


in the students that they can live the good life
and display ethical decision making in the face
of scientific and technological advancement.
This course aims to instill to our students the
importance of advancement but with the value
of sustainability for the future generations.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Reflect and discuss the impact of one’s knowledge of
science and technology to our present society.
2. Critique human flourishing together with the
progress of science and technology such that the
student may be able to define for himself/herself the
meaning of the good life
3. Foster the value of a healthy lifestyle toward the
holistic and sustainable development of society and
human race

GRADING SYSTEM

A 60% passing score with base 50% shall be


implemented for all types of assessments.
That is, if the total score of an assessment is
70 points, then a score of 42 gets an
equivalent of 75% and a score of 0 is
equivalent to 50%, while a perfect score of
70 is equivalent to 100%.

The computed midterm and final percentage


grades will then be re-transmuted into point-
grade equivalents and codes.
A student who accumulates absences
beyond 10.8 hours will automatically
receive a grade of zero.

Students should promptly comply all written
works and performance tasks
Students are expected to take major exams
as scheduled.
Rubrics for each activity will be provided.

1. Portfolio of all returned outputs:
Long folder covered with plastic.

2. Students are encouraged to take down notes


during discussion. PowerPoint slides will be shared
to the students after each discussion. Bonus points
are given to students who take notes.
