“Human trafficking is an open wound

on the body of contemporary society, a
scourge upon the body of Christ. It is
a crime against humanity.”

Pope Francis
Talitha Kum

Talitha Kum is an international Catholic organization

formed by women religious (sisters) leaders from around
the world to fight against human trafficking.

The word “Talitha Kum” is taken from the gospel of Mark

5:21, where Jesus took the twelve-year-old girl by the hand
and said, “Talitha Kum!” which means, “Little girl, get up!”
The girl stood up and started walking.
