NURSING ETHICS
• Is a system of different principles governing the conduct of a nurse. It
deals with the relationship of the nurse to the patient, patient’s
family, associates and fellow nurses and society at large.
• It shares many similarities with medical ethics of both maybe lumped
under the umbrella of Biomedical ethics.
• Patients have the right to bodily autonomy as much as possible, thus
it is centered on the idea that nursing is a collaborative occupation.
• CARING not CURING is sometimes used to describe nursing, with the
idea that the nurse can’t focus on medical treatment and ignore the
needs of the patient.
MORALITY
Is a system of values and principles of conduct, especially one
held by a specified person or society. It is the extent to which an action
is right or wrong. It can be a body of standards or principles derived
from a code of conduct from a particular philosophy, religion and
culture or can derive from a standard that a person believes should be
universal. Morality does not need justification for its being
• HUMAN ACTS- are action performed by human knowingly and freely.
It is also called intentional or deliberate actions or voluntary.

• ACT of MAN- in contrary to human acts it is involuntary, instinctive


and unintentional.

• DEBATABLE ISSUES- act of man for example, can be considered


human act if the action is carried out with malice.
