The term 'international' relations was coined by Jeremy Bentham in his 1789 book
Principles of Morals and Legislation.

International Relations basically “concerns the relationship among the world’s governments”

world. Therefore, IR seeks to understand how people are provided or not provided, with the
basic values of security, freedom, order, justice and welfare”.
