‘Previous recordings’ vs
‘Live lectures’
• Previous recordings (by A/P DC)
– include tutorials as well
• all tutorial groups are exposed to the same contents
– complete in all aspects
– required to address tutorial problems
– minimal or no repetitions
• Live lectures (by me)
– meant to be at much slower pace
– cannot cover all aspects; only common questions as
reflected in weekly feedback (google form); and important
concept understanding;

CAs, assignments and exam
• Online Continuous assessment (CA1 & CA2)
– meant to assess familiarity with basic principles
– accounting for 40% of the final mark 1. FT: 29 Feb @17:30
2. PT: 27 Feb @19:00
– open book
• CA1: week before recess, during lecture hours
• CA2: TBD by Prof Domenico
– to be held during lecture hours

• Physical Final Exam (06 May 2024 afternoon)

– meant to assess analytical/computational skills
– accounting for 60% of the final mark

ehongli@ntu.edu.sg MA2009 10
A few tips...
• work on your tutorials before class
– go through the pre-recorded lectures before attempting tutorials

• attend all CAs

– unless you have a valid MC
– each CA is online , you can take it from anywhere

• MUST show up for the final exam

– do not leave exam questions unanswered
• Write down relevant equations
– read/ponder the various exam questions first!
• do not just pour in all the equations you can remember
• Writing more explanation if possible
