REVIEW ●SELF-TESTING ●CHARTING LESSON ●Developing Strength, Endurance, and Stamina Through Invasion Games STRENGTH ● The ability of a muscle to apply force and overcome resistance or the amount of force a muscle can exert. ENDURANCE ● It is the capacity of a person to work in unpleasant and hard situation without giving up. STAMINA ●It is the mental and physical ability to sustain an activity for a long period. INVASION GAMES ● These are also called territory games. ● These include stealing the object/ball by running, jumping, or crossing over. INVASION GAMES ● These are physical activities that show the players’ ability to move into a space to make a goal, to occupy the opponents’ space, and to defend their space while scoring points, and keeping the opposing team’s points to a minimum. EXAMPLES OF INVASION GAMES 1. Volleyball 2. Basketball 3. Chess 4. Dama 5. Patintero 6. Kickball 7. Agawan base 8. Agawan panyo VOLLEYBALL ● game played by two teams, usually of six players on a side, in which the players use their hands to bat a ball back and forth over a high net, trying to make the ball touch the court within the opponents’ playing area before it can be returned. BASKETBALL ● a game played between two teams of five players in which goals are scored by throwing a ball through a netted hoop fixed above each end of the court. CHESS ● It is played by two players on a board game with 64 squares. The player aims to checkmate the opponent’s king to win the game. DAMA •It is a board game that uses 12 position pitsas at the end points of a diagram. •The game ends when all pitsas of the opponent player have been captured. PATINTERO ● It is played on a rectangular grid drawn into the ground. KICKBALL ● an informal game combining elements of baseball and soccer, in which an inflated ball is thrown to a person who kicks it and proceeds to run the bases. AGAWAN BASE ● In this game, two teams compete with each other by taking over the opponent’s territory by tagging the opponent who tries to enter their territory. AGAWAN PANYO ● is game where two groups of players race in the middle of the playing area and get the handkerchief held by a person in the middle. Any questions?
