What is Dengue?
Dengue is most common and severe illness
caused by flavi virus ( Dengue virus)
Dengue can cause heavy fever and Chills which
can be dangerous in severe cases.
Causative agent :
Itis caused due to flavivirus with 4 distinct
serogroups ( DEN – 1, DEN – 2, DEN- 3, DEN – 4)
Symptoms :
Incubation period is 3 to 10 says, symptoms can be seen
after 3 days.
High fever
Chills
Nausea
Vomiting
Severe headache
Pain behind eyes
Muscles and joint pain
Swallon glands
Platelet count decrease
There are 3 types of fever in
Dengue :
1. Mild Dengue fever
2. Dengue Haemorrhogic fever
3. Dengue shock syndrome
Mode of transmision :
Dengue is transmitted through a
mosquito i.e. Aedes mosquito.
Diagnosis :
CBC to check platelet count.
Prevention :
Wear long sleeves and trousers outside
Mosquito repellant cream and spray should be
used
Screened window in house, Use mosquitoes net.
Burning of mosquito coil
Avoidbeing hitting by mosquito or avoid that
affected area.
