Abstract
• This research paper is about how in this modern world where
technology is everywhere around us from our pockets to right in front
of us. Similarly technology also helps in one of the most important
process of managing a business which is supply chain.
• Technology helps in having a more effective as well as a more efficient
supply chain model in our organization. From planning the best route,
analysing data from various information gathering methods and
optimising various processes technology in supply chain management
is a pivotal requirement to gain an edge in a business competition.
Need for research
Supply Chain Management as a whole is something that a common
man underestimates the importance of. Every student is either
attracted towards sales or finance. With this paper I wish to shed light
on some of it’s applications and how it is affected by technology.

Literature review
• To create a proper research paper I read a lot of papers and here are some of
them –
1. Processes and Benefits of the Application of Information Technology in Supply
Chain Management: An Analysis of the Literature By- Alexandre Pinheiro
de Barros. This paper taught me lot about the application of IT and technology
in SCM during 2009 and 2014.
2. Adopting new technologies for supply chain management By - Kirk A.
Patterson, Curtis M. Grimm, and Thomas M. Corsi. This taught the adaption
process of technology in various departments in respect to the firm size,
organizational structure, and environmental uncertainty.
Literature review
3. Green supply chain practices and the selection of environmental technologies
By- Stephan Vachon. This paper helped the pressure on the various businesses
to adapt more greener supply chain practices during their business process and
the adaption of various technologies to make this happen.
4. Blockchain technology: implications for operations and supply chain
management By - Rosanna Cole, Mark Stevenson, and James Aitken. Blockchain
technology is basically an advanced database mechanism that allows
transparent information sharing within a business network. This paper allowed
me to understand how the Blockchain technology is used in a business and it’s
implications in the supply chain process.
Objective
• The reasons for choosing this topic as my research topic are -
1. Collect data for a proper analysis of the technology that is utilized
in the supply chain management process.
2. Use that data to analyis things such as most useful technology,
technology that has a lot more potential to uncover etc
3. Speed awareness of supply chain management to the common
man.
Research Methodology
1. Primary data - Collected data from both employees about the uses
as well as normal people who don't have any use of them. This is
done to find the social awareness of supply chain management as a
whole.
2. Secondary data - Collected data from research papers and such in
order to find the reviews of experts in the field.

Analysis
From my findings of the research I have analysed some things such as -
1. The most used technology is the use of communication systems
such as phones or emails due their high versatility and ease to use.
2. Due to the newness of AI it is still not properly used in the office
work environment. It has a lot of potential and thus is the future of
what can be done.
Conclusion
From this report we can conclde that even though the importance of
supply chain management can be a pivotal edge that can affect the
business direction, general population still doesn't see it's importance
and thinks of it as a logistics supplement.

The advance of technology and the importance of supply chain


operations go hand in hand. As one increases the utility that the other
one can provide will be unmatched. Thus businesses should utilize
them better for a brighter future
