Project Title:- Online Hostel Gate Pass
Master of Integrated Technology Department
NIET COLLEGE
Problem Statement:-
Objectives:-
•Enable residents and visitors to request gate passes online with specified
details.
•Establish an approval workflow for administrators to review and approve
requests.
•Generate digital gate passes with unique identifiers for verification.
•Enable real-time monitoring and reporting of entry and exit activities.
•Integrate with existing hostel management systems for seamless operation.
•Implement security measures to prevent unauthorized access.
Introduction
Significance:
1.Enhanced User Experience: Provides a user-friendly interface for smoother
interactions.
2.Improved Security: Strengthens safety measures, reducing the risk of
unauthorized access.
3.Time and Cost Savings: Reduces administrative overhead and resource
expenditure.
4.Real-time Monitoring and Reporting: Facilitates prompt responses to
incidents and generates valuable insights.
5.Scalability: Adapts easily to changing demands without significant
infrastructure changes.
Introduction
Feasibility Study:
1.Technical Feasibility:
•Infrastructure: Assess the availability of necessary hardware and software
resources for system development and deployment.
•Technology Stack: Evaluate the suitability of different technologies (web
development frameworks, databases, security protocols) for building the system.
2. Economic Feasibility:
•Cost-Benefit Analysis: Estimate the costs associated with system development,
including personnel, technology, and ongoing maintenance.
•Budget Considerations: Assess the affordability of the project within the
allocated budget constraints.
Literature Survey
Proposed Methodology:-
1.Requirement Analysis: Gather stakeholder requirements.
2.System Design: Architect system, database, and UI.
3.Technology Selection: Choose appropriate tech stack.
4.Development: Build core functionalities iteratively.
5.Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing.
6.Deployment: Roll out system in a controlled manner.
7.Training and Rollout: Train users and gradually deploy.
8.Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing maintenance and support.
9.Continuous Improvement: Gather feedback and implement enhancements.
Literature Survey
Proposed Work:-
Our proposed system manages the entry and exit of the students on short
term and long term leaves. Gate Pass Management System is an efficient
system to keep track of each student’s entry and exit. Management System
is available for use and it is easy to use and manage. It will simplifies the
task and reduce the paper work.
Our proposed system provides complete road map for students take one day
leave and long leaves formalities. Also our proposed system showcase the
hierarchy of approval for normal students and sports students.
Software Requirement Analysis
Software Requirements:-
1.Development Tools: IDE (e.g., Visual Studio Code), Git
2.Programming Languages: Backend (e.g., Python, Java), Frontend
(HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
3.Web Frameworks: Flask/Django (Python), Spring Boot (Java), Express.js
(Node.js)
4.Database Management System: PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQLite
5.Authentication and Authorization: OAuth/JWT, RBAC
6.Security: HTTPS, security scanning tools
7.Notification Services: Email/SMS APIs
