How to install windows 10

Before installation ..
• Things you must know before starting to
install windows 8 & windows 10:
– What is the system requirements.
– Which version of windows 8 & 10 ?
– The compatibility of hardware and software.
– Which type of installation ?
– Back up and restore existing data.
– partition the hard drive and file system.
System requirements
Two versions of Windows?
• 32 -bit
• 64 -bit
• The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a
computer's processor (also called a CPU),
handles information.
• The 64-bit version of Windows handles large
amounts of random access memory (RAM)
more effectively than a 32-bit system.
System requirements
Windows 7 does have some minimum system requirements for Windows 7 to

run smoothly:
– 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor

– 1 GB RAM for 32-bit Windows 7 OR 2 GB RAM for 64-bit Windows 10

– 16 GB available disk space 32-bit Windows 7 OR 20 GB for 64-

bit Windows

– Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (in order to enable

Aero theme)

– DVD-R/W Drive

– Internet access (to download the Beta and get update)


System requirements
• How can I tell if my computer is running a 32-
bit or a 64-bit version of Windows?
• To find out if your computer is running a 32-bit or
64-bit version
of Windows in Windows 10 or Windows Vista, do
the following:
1. Open System by clicking the Start button , right-
clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.

2. Under System, you can view the system type .


Windows 10 Versions:
Type of installation:
• There are two options to choose from during
the Windows 8 and 10 installation process:
– Upgrade. This option replaces your current version
of Windows with Windows 10, and keeps your files,
settings, and programs in place on your computer.
– Custom. This option replaces your current version
of Windows with Windows 10, but doesn't preserve
your files, settings, and programs. It's sometimes
referred to as a clean installation for that reason.

1. WINDOWS 10 SEEMS SLOW
• many visual effects that draw heavy on your
graphics card and system memory. If your
system was slow out of the box, chances are
you can easily fix that by turning off
superfluous effects.
• Go to > Start and type ‘performance‘ in the
search field. Select > ‘Adjust the appearance
and performance of Windows‘
2. OLDER PROGRAMS NOT
COMPATIBLE
• right-click its > installation file
• select >Properties.
• In its > Properties windows switch to the
> Compatibility tab.
• check > ‘Run this program in compatibility
mode for:‘ and from the > pull-down
menu choose the latest version of Windows of
which you know that the program was running
on.
3. WINDOWS ALWAYS ASK ME ..
• windows10 asks: "do you want to allow the
following program to make changes to your
computer"?
• To change the settings in User Account
Control : Open User Account Control
Settings by clicking the Start button and then
clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type
uac and then click Change User Account
Control settings.
4. STOP PROGRAMS THAT
WORK WHEN THE WINDOWS
START UP..
• In the search box write >>msconfig.
• Select >>start up >> Uncheck any program to
stop it when the windows start up.
• Restart your computer.
