Nursing is a profession that ensures the successful


implementation of interventions that:
• Welcome and nurture life,
• Promotes or restores health,
• Enables the means to improve the quality of life ,
• Dignified and peace full death

• Individuals of all age,
• Families,
• Groups and communities,
• Sick or well and in all settings.

other health professionals, making sure patients’ care

structure and job description including reporting relationships.

of nurses for implementing nursing process.

responsible for the overall function of nursing activities in
the hospital.

Medical Director.

quality of patient care.

• Nurses may delegate tasks and responsibilities to junior nurses,
student nurses or parallel position

• It should be part of the overall hospital quality
improvement project.
• Regular nursing care audit is critical for
improvement
4. Summary
• Nursing encompasses autonomous and collaborative
care of individuals of all ages, families, groups and
communities, sick or well and in all settings.

• Nursing includes the promotion of health, prevention of


illness, and the care of ill, disabled and dying people.
