WRITES VARIOUS KINDS

OF REPORTS
Lesson Objectives:
Identify the objectives of various kinds of reports;
Determine the structure of various kinds of reports

What are REPORTS?

• Reports are planned, organized, factual


presentation of information prepared for a
specific purpose and for a specific audience.
• Relays/ recounts events in presentable forms.
2 General Kinds of Reports:

1. FORMAL- an official report that are written to


provide information, analyze an issue, or make
recommendations.(Research Report, Situational
Report, Annual Report)
2. INFORMAL- are usually short messages with
free- flowing, casual use of language. (Memo,
Letter, Minutes of Meeting)
Oracion and Dalona (2018) cited THREE
COMMON TYPES OF REPORTS. Let us discuss
them as follows:
1.Technical Reports
• are made for a group of people or organization who
seeks information essential for a project or an industry
• can be a survey result, a laboratory or scientific report
which brings information that will check the
effectiveness of an organizational system (Barrot and
Sipacio,2016)

The basic objective in reporting academic findings is to


impart to a larger audience a discovery made through
formal investigation and scientific
inquiry.
