Introduction
• Artificial Intelligence(AI):- is the intelligence of a machine or
computer that enables it to imitate or mimic human
capabilities.
 Artificial :- means man made.
 Intelligence:- means Thinking of power.
• AI uses multiple technologies that equip machines to
sense, comprehend plan, act and learn with human
like level of intelligence.
• Artificial intelligence is the branch of computer
science dedicated to the development of computer
systems or machines capable of performing tasks that
typical require intelligence.
Cont…..
 Examples of these tasks are:-
• Speech recognition.
• Language translation.
• performing complex surgical operation.
• driving a car in traffic (crowded environment).
• Proving a mathematical theorem.
How does AI Works
• AI system accepts data input in the form of
speech, text, image. etc.
• The system then processes the data by applying
various rules and algorithms, interpreting,
predicting and acting on the input data.
• Upon processing the system provides an outcome
success or failure on data input.
• The result is then assessed through analysis,
discovery and feedback.
• Last the system use its assessment to adjust input
data rules and algorithms and target out comes.
• This loop continues until the desired result is
achieved.

Types of AI
There are two types of AI
1.Based on capabilities:-
 Narrow AI:-goal oriented trained to perform
specific task .
 General AI:-just like the human being a thinking.
 Supper AI:-surpass human intelligence and can
perform any task better than a
human,thinking,reasoning,solving,puzzle,making
jugdment, learning and communicating on its own.
Cont…..
2.Based on functionality:-
 Reactive machines:-do not store past experience or
memories for future action .
 Limited memory machine:-can store and use past
experiences or data for a short period of time
 Theory of mind:-can understand human emotions and
beliefs and socially interact like human.
 Self-aware AI :-machines with there consciousness
sentiments emotion belief
Application of AI
1.Healthcare:
• medical diagnosis and treatment planning
• Drug discovering and development
• Radiology and medical imaging analysis.
2.Finance and banking:
 fraud detection and prevention
 Credit risk assessment and loan approval .
 algorithmic trading and market analysis.
3.Automotive and Transportation:
• autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles.
• Traffic management and optimization.
• Logistics and supply chain optimization.
Cont….
4.Retail and E-commerce.
• Personalized product recommendations.
• Demand forecasting and inventory management .
• Fraud detection and prevention.

5.Manufacturing and industry:

• Predictive maintenance and quality control.
• Process optimization and automation.
• Supply chain management and logistics.

6.Agricalture and food production:

• Precision farming and crop monitoring.
• Yield optimization and resource management.
• Food safety quality control.

7.Education and training:

• Personalized learning and adaptive tutoring.
• Intelligent tutoring systems and virtual assistants.
• Educational content creation and curation etc…
Application of AI
Goals of AI
 The goals of AI can be broadly categorized in to the following areas.
1.Automation and efficiency: One of the primer goals of AI is to
automate tasks and processes, making them efficient, accurate ,and scalable.
 This include automating repetitive, tedious,or dangerous task that can be better
handled by machines.
2.Augmenting Human capability: AI aims to augment and
enhance human capacities, allowing us to tackle more complex problems, make
better decisions, and expand the boundaries is of what is possible.
 This include developing intelligent assistants, decision support systems, and tools
that can in hence human performance.
3. Solving complex problems:-AI is often employed to tackle
complex, multifaceted problems that are difficult for human to solve alone.
 This include areas such as scientific research, medical diagnosis, weather
forecasting and optimization of complex system
cont…
4. Advancing scientific understanding : -
AI can used as a tool advance our scientific
understanding of the world around us.
5. Achieving general intelligence:-
 A long term goal of AI research develop systems that
can exhibit general intelligence, similar to a broad
and flexible intelligence possessed by humans.
This is known as artificial general intelligence(AGI)
and is a significant challenge that researchers are
working towards.
Advantege of AI
There are some of the key advantage of AI:
1.Increased Efficiency and productivity: AI
system can perform tasks faster and more accurately than
humans, leading to increased efficiency and productivity
in various industries.
2. 24/7 Availability: AI systems can operate
continuously without breaks, providing services and
support around the clock.
3.Redueced errors: AI systems can process large
amount of data and make decisions with high degree of
accuracy, reducing the likelihood of errors compared to
human decision-making
Cont…
4. Personalization and customization : AI algorithms can analyze
user preferences and behavior to provide personalized recommendations and customized
experiences.
5.Improved decision-making: AI systems can analyze complex data,
identify patterns, and make informed decisions, which can be particularly use full in fields like
finance, healthcare, and business management.
6.Inhenced creativity and innovation: AI can be used to generate
new ideas, designs, and solutions, potentially leading to breakthroughs and innovations in various
domains.

7.Cost savings: Automating certain tasks with AI can be used to cost savings for
businesses, as it reduces is the need for human labor in sum areas.

8.Assistive capabilities: AI-powered assistants can help humans

with wire range of tasks, from scheduling and tasks management to language translations and
information retrieval

9.Improved safety: AI systems can be used to enhance safety in various

applications, such as autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, and medical diagnostics.

10.scalability:-AI systems can be easily scaled to handle increasing amounts of data

and work loads, making them suitable for large-scale.
DISADVANTAGES OF AI
1. Lack of emotional Intelligence : AI systems currently lack the emotional
intelligence and empathy that humans possess.
2. Bias and errors: AI systems can perpetuate and amplify human biases present in
the data used to train them.
3. Unemployment and job displacement : the increasing automation enabled
by AI can lead to job losses, especially for repetitive and routine tasks .
4. Ethical concerns: The use of AI raises ethical concerns around privacy,
transparency, accountability, and the potential misuse of powerful technologies.
5.Dependency on data: AI systems are heavily dependent on the quality and
quantity of data used to train them.
6. Lack of contextual understanding:
7.Security and vulnerability:
8.Complexcity and opacity:
9.Scalability challenges:
10.Existential risks:
