Administration of Guidance
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
REPORTS TO : Principal
1. Educational Counseling:
1.1 Coordinates the orientation program of
students with other officers concerned
1.2 Interprets objectives, policies, rules and
regulations of the school to students, parents and teachers.
1.3 Assists students in determining long – term
educational plans as early as possible.
1.4 Advises students of educational opportunities
and requirements.
1.5 Secures and organizes pertinent data about the
students.
1.6 Is responsible in administering the test for
guidance purposes, collecting test data and interpreting
the results for the department heads, teachers, parents
and students.
1.7 Is responsible for the accurate recording of
standardized test scores in cumulative records.
1.8 Supervises the preparation and maintenance
of the cumulative guidance records for each counselee.
1.9 Identifies students with special problems
needing specialized help and assistance.
1.10 Keeps the Coordinators informed about the
major findings of cases at hand.
1.11 Submits monthly performance reports to the
Principal
2. Vocational Counseling
2.1 Assists the students in clarifying his
occupational and educational plans, giving due
consideration to his abilities, aptitudes, interests,
personality, economic and social environment.
2.2 Maintains an occupational file and
vocational counseling materials for students and
teachers.
2.3 Assists counselee with regard to job
placement.
2.4 Conducts follow – up studies of
counselee who have left the school.
3. Personal and Social Counseling
3.1 Helps the students arrive at a satisfactory
solution to their personal problems
3.2 Helps the student understand and accept himself
as a person.
3.3 Helps the student understand others and his
relationship to them and makes adequate social adjustment.
3.4. Conducts teacher, parent and pupil conferences
to help solve school – adjustment problems.
3.5 Informs teachers about the problem and
difficulties that individual student faces and helps teacher gain
insights and understanding through discussions and appraisals
of pertinent data.
3.6 Carries on liaison work between school and
home.
4. Service to Instructions
4.1 Assists teachers to understand the
objectives and purposes of the guidance program
through discussion at faculty meetings, conferences and
discussion of individual student problems.
4.2 Gives materials to teachers which will help
them understand young people and their problems.
4.3 Distributes to teachers helpful guidance
materials.
4.4 Assists teachers in using group work as an
adjunctive process
4.5 Assists teachers in the wise use of tests and
other information gathering devices.
B. SPECIFIC DUTIES
1. Is responsible for the holding of Career Week in the
school.
2. Is responsible for the harmonious implementation
of the proposed Action Program for the Guidance
Center.
3. Coordinates with Health Services Personnel in
holding of convocations and seminars, etc on drug
addiction, alcoholism and other contemporary
youth problems.
4. Is responsible for the setting up of the School’s
Guidance Organizational Chart.
5. Administers tests to students and teachers.
