EMBEDDED SYSTEMS
The embedded systems domain is not only technically rewarding but also has
significant real-world applications, especially in safety and health-related
projects. It provides the opportunity to innovate and make a positive impact,
making it an excellent choice for our smart helmet project.
OBJECTIVE
Design a system that can accurately detect when an accident occurs. This
might involve detecting sudden impacts or unusual movements that
suggest a fall or collision. Implement a method to immediately notify
emergency contacts or services in the event of an accident. This could
involve sending a text message, making a phone call, or triggering an
alarm.
ABSTRACT
• The Smart Helmet Project aims to enhance personal safety by integrating
real-time alcohol detection and emergency alert systems using Arduino.
• This innovative helmet leverages an sensor to monitor and detect
significant impacts on such incident .
• Upon detecting such events, the system activates a GPS module to
capture the precise location of the incident.

IMPLEMENT MODEL
RESULT
The Alcohol Detection Smart Helmet project using Arduino incorporates several
sensors to detect sudden impacts or irregular motion and notify emergency contacts.
The goal of the project is to create a safety system that can help reduce the time
between an accident and the arrival of help, especially for cyclists, motorcyclists, or
workers in hazardous environments.
CONCLUSION
The Alcohol Detection Smart Helmet project demonstrates a promising
application of Arduino-based technology in enhancing safety for individuals
engaging in high-risk activities. The key outcomes show that the system can
effectively detect impacts and send location-based alerts using GPS,
Bluetooth, or GSM.
However, further improvements can be made in areas such as reducing false
positives, enhancing power efficiency, and improving the physical integration
of the system within helmets. By addressing these challenges, the system
can become more reliable, user-friendly, and practical for real-world usage.
FUTURE WORK
Advanced Motion Detection Algorithms: Implement machine learning algorithms to
improve the accuracy of impact and accident detection.
Better Power Management: Design an optimized power system that extends battery
life and reduces the need for frequent charging.
Integration with IoT Platforms: Incorporate IoT features like real-time monitoring or
cloud-based storage of accident data.
User Interface: Develop a smartphone app or integrate with existing emergency
services apps for a more seamless user experience.
