OBJECTIVES
1. Discuss the nature/background of the
game domino.
2. Relate the health and fitness benefit that
the family can derive
from playing dominos.
3. Execute basic skills and tactics in domino.
INTRODUCTION
Dominoes is a family of tile-based games
played with gaming pieces. Each domino is a
rectangular tile, usually with a line dividing
its face into two square ends. Each end is
marked with a number of spots (also called
pips or dots) or is blank.
HISTORY/BACKGROUND
Dominoes originated in China, where dominoes or
playing cards—the same word is used for both, and
they are physically identical—are mentioned as early
as the 10th century.
Dominos are called “bones” because the earliest
domino tiles were made from animal bones or ivory.
Dominos are also called “tiles”. “stones”, “men”
“tickets” or spiners. Each domino is rectagular tile with
a line dividing its face into two squares ends.

The game domino was very popular in Italy, france,

and britain in the 18th century.
We are now moving on to what are the benefits of playing Domino. In order for you
to fully understand it, I prepared an activity entitled “Think-pair-Share”
Are you familiar with this activity class?

Instruction:

1.The teacher will tasked the students to find partner.

2.The students pair will think about what is the benefits if they choose to play the
indoor recreational activity rather than playing the outdoor activities.
3.While analyzing what they have done and they will write it to a piece of paper.
4.Your given time will start now. (3 Minutes)
Set up.
1. Shuffle the Dominoes:
Thoroughly shuffle the entire set of dominoes. This ensures a random
distribution of numbers and avoids any unintentional advantage for any player.
2. Deal the Dominoes:
Determine the number of dominoes to deal to each player. This depends on the
number of players:
*Two players: Usually 7 dominoes each.
*Three players: Typically 5 dominoes each.
*Four players: Often 5 dominoes each.

Deal the dominoes face down to each player.

Players should not look at their dominoes until the game begins.
3. Determine the Starting Domino:
The player with the highest double (e.g., double six) starts the game.
If no one has a double, the player with the highest single number (e.g.,
a six on one side) starts.
The starting player places their chosen domino face up in the center
of the playing area.
4. Subsequent Plays:
Players take turns matching the open ends of the chain with a
matching number on one of their dominoes.
For example, if the starting domino is double six, the next player
must play a domino with either a six on one end.
5. Blocking the Game:
If a player cannot play any of their dominoes, they must "draw" from the
remaining dominoes (the "boneyard") until they can play.
If the boneyard is empty and a player cannot play, the game is blocked.
6. Scoring:
Scoring methods vary depending on the specific rules. Common methods
include:
oHighest total of pips on remaining dominoes: The player with the lowest
total wins.
oCounting all pips on played dominoes: The player with the highest total
wins.
Activity: Mini scrabble tournament
In this activity, you will synthesize and apply what you have
theoretically and practically learned in the previous learning activity.
Decision making, critical thinking and sportsmanship will be developed.

1.The class will be group into four and each member should participate
in the activity. (Maintain camaraderie and sportsmanship)
2.The members of each group will play Domino. Composed
Of 4 players and 2 scorers.
3.The teacher will facilitate the students, guide and check them if they
followed to the activity.
