Crop and Hand

Tools
LEARNING OBJECTIVE
At the end of this lesson, I should be
able to:
• Describe how these tools can define an area in
an image so that it can be permanently cut out
the rest part etc.
• Edit pictures using Crop Tool and Pen Tool.
CROP TOOL

The Crop tool removes the part of an image

surrounding the selection. Crop to remove
distractive background elements and create a focus
on your desired object in the image. When you crop
an image, by default, the resolution remains the
same as the original image.
How to use the crop tool.
1. Select the Crop tool. Choose the Crop tool from the Photoshop
toolbar. ...

2. Find your perfect framing. Frame your photo by dragging the corner
handles around the part of the image you want to keep and rotating your
image left or right. ...
3. Commit to your new crop
HAND TOOL

The Hand tool allows you to move your image

around its window by dragging. The tool is useful
for maneuvering around an image to focus in on
specific details within the picture. Select the Hand
tool (H) from the tool bar or press and hold the
spacebar key to temporarily switch to the Hand tool
Most Common Uses
This tool is most commonly used for getting a closer look at a
specific detail in an image. It is also frequently used along with the
Zoom tool. When you use the Hand tool, you can bring a specific
detail into closer focus by centering the part of the image with
which you are working. This tool is also good to use when you
have already made edits to an image and want to get a closer look
at the changes you have made. You can use it to pull the area
previously edited into the center of the image for focus and then
use the Zoom tool as well to get a better look at the changes.
TASK

With your knowledge of Crop

Tool and Pen Tool, edit the given
picture.
