TOPIC: 5 MOST COMMON ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN THE VEHICLE.

TEACHER : JOHN CHARLES BERMEJO ORMEÑO
STUDENT: EDWAR LOPEZ MEDINA
SEMESTER: IV
BATTERY DISCHARGE.
-his can often be caused by leaving the lights on or by a faulty alternator, or it can be caused by an
old and worn battery.
-If a battery is discharged, can someone else use your car to pass power to it? They can, by first
connecting the positive wire to the positive and negative terminals of the good battery, connecting
the negative wire to the ground of the discharged car, then starting the car with the good battery,
and finally starting the car with the discharged battery and removing the wire.
BLOWN FUSES:

• This problem is usually caused by an

overloaded power supply which can affect any
part of the vehicle's electrical system.
• To identify a blown fuse, use a multimeter to
test for continuity and first locate the vehicle's
fuse box. Next, place the multimeter tip on the
fuse head to check the readings.
• can cause a number of problems, such as battery drain, low headlights, and
A DEFECTIVE sudden vehicle stops. Alternator voltage can be measured with a
multimeter.
ALTERNATOR • The solution to the alternator problem will depend on the results of the
diagnostic tests, which will determine whether the alternator needs to be
repaired or replaced
• IT MAY BE CAUSED BY PROBLEMS THAT PREVENT FUEL FROM BURNING OR PREVENT THE VEHICLE
FROM STARTING.

IGNITION COIL • TO TEST THE COILS, WE USE A MULTIMETER TO MEASURE THE RESISTANCE AND BE ABLE TO DO IT
BY PLACING THE POSITIVE RED WIRE OF THE MULTIMETER INTO THE COIL CONNECTOR, AND THE
FAULTS NEGATIVE WIRE WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE TERMINAL OR CONNECTOR OF THE SPARK PLUG. IT
IS CRUCIAL TO MAKE SURE THE COILS WORK PROPERLY.

• IN THE EVENT THAT WE MARK LESS THAN THE ALLOWED 7.06, WE WILL HAVE TO MAKE CHANGES
SINCE THE ACCEPTABLE RANGE IS 12.00 V (MEASURED WITH A MULTIMETER SET TO 20 K OHMS).
LIGHT ISSUES

• ARE COMMON IN VEHICLES AND CAN RESULT

FROM A LOOSE CONNECTION OR A DEFECTIVE
BULB CAUSED BY ITS QUALITY.
• TO CHECK FOR FAULTY BULBS FOR
REPLACEMENT, REMOVE THE BULB FROM THE
HEADLIGHT AND INSPECT ITS FILAMENTS WITH
A FLASHLIGHT.
