. Das mahavidyas are ten powerful goddesses of
Hinduism .They are said to be a form of Maa
Parvati And are source of immence energy and
wisdom.These are the top most deities of shakta
between five sect-
(GANPATYA,VAISHNAV,SHAIVYA,SHAKTA,SAURA).
These deities ase associated with tantra and have
the power of giving every luxury, prosperity,
salvation and to kill evil.These are also associated
with pancha kritya i.e maran, sammohan,
bashikaran, sthambhan and uchhatan.
These mahavidyas are-:
i/ Kali
ii/ Tara
iii/Shodashi
iv/Bhubneswari
v/Bhairavi
vi/Chinnamasta
vii/Dhumavati
viii/Bagalamukhi
ix/Matangi
